Subject: A typical morning on the Tucano started with a wake-up call at 5:30. We would leave at 6:00 on 2 motorized canoes for some early morning wildlife viewing.

Amazonas06 - 064 * The rubber tree bark is scraped on a diagonal and the rubber slowly drips into a collection cup purchased from the company store.

Amazonas06 - 065 * When enough rubber has been collected, it is slowly built up into a ball by twirling it over a smokey fire. Carbon sets the liquid rubber into a solid.
